CareerBoss Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026 This policy explains what information Jeff Adcock, LLC, a Utah limited liability company doing business as CareerBoss ("we," "us"), collects through careerboss.ai, how we use it, and your choices. 1. Information you give us - MostFinder entries: the values and priorities you type, your prediction of your #1, your head-to-head choices, and your ranked results. - Email address, if you choose "Save email with these results." - Account information, if you create an account: email address and password (passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider). - Career Lens answers: your must-haves, 10-year "BAR," minimum acceptable results, what energizes and drains you, deal-breakers, and details of job offers you choose to review. These answers can be personal. Please do not include other people's confidential information or sensitive details you do not want stored. - Support and refund requests you submit through your account or by email. - Purchase information: Stripe tells us that a payment succeeded and gives us related details (such as amount, date, and the email used at checkout). We never receive your full card number. 2. Information collected automatically We use our own first-party analytics. We do not use advertising pixels, conversion tags, or advertising networks. When you use the site, our analytics record: - A random browser identifier, kept in your browser's local storage, and a random session identifier, kept in your browser's session storage; - Your account identifier, when verified; - Pages viewed (without the query string) and in-app events (for example, starting or completing MostFinder, viewing the Career Lens offer, or starting checkout), with timestamps, simple interaction counts, and a limited measure of active time; - Your access status and, for some events, identifiers for a saved run or completion attempt; - With completion and result events, your ranked work values (shortened if their labels are long), their rank and value identifiers, and technical details such as each label's length, a short fingerprint (hash), and whether it was shortened. We distinguish details calculated by our server from the text it receives from details reported by your browser. Browser-reported details are not independently verified against the original results; - Limited technical validation codes that help us check whether the data arrived as expected; - The campaign tags in the link you arrived from: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and utm_content. Separately, your browser keeps a record of how you first found us: the four campaign tags above, plus utm_term, any ref code in the link, and the address of the website that first referred you (referrer_first). This browser record may be saved with your MostFinder run, together with your values, choices, prediction and ranked results. The three extra fields—utm_term, ref and referrer_first—are not added to our analytics events; the four campaign tags above can be. The browser copy has no automatic expiry in our code and remains until this site's browser data is cleared. Clearing browser data does not delete copies already saved with your runs. Our analytics do not store dedicated IP address, browser-type or device-type fields. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes IP addresses and technical information to provide and protect its services under its published Privacy Notice (https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-notice). We have not verified a retention period for our account's hosting logs. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we don't collect analytics. This does not stop the separate campaign record or saved results from being stored. We use your browser's local and session storage, not advertising cookies, to keep these identifiers, your campaign record, and your saved or in-progress results. If you sign in, our authentication provider also stores login information in your browser. 3. How we use information To run MostFinder and Career Lens and show your results; to save your results and let you reopen them on another device; to process purchases and refunds; to respond to support requests; to send emails you asked for or agreed to (see section 6); to understand which pages and campaigns work so we can improve the Service; and to keep the Service secure and comply with law. 4. AI processing To clarify your wording, summarize your answers, and generate offer reviews, the text you enter is sent to our artificial-intelligence service provider, Anthropic, PBC (the Claude API), which processes it on our behalf to return a result. Anthropic states that commercial inputs and outputs are not used for model training by default; feedback or an explicit choice to allow such use can be exceptions. Its standard API policy deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, except for services with longer retention under customer control, different agreements, usage-policy enforcement, or legal compliance. Anthropic also describes additional retention requirements for certain covered models. These are published provider policies, not confirmation of our account-specific terms or settings. See Anthropic's Privacy Center (https://privacy.claude.com/). We do not use your entries to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you. 5. Who we share information with We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it: - Vercel (website hosting); Supabase (database and account authentication, including account emails such as sign-up confirmation and password resets); Resend (delivery of account emails); Stripe (payments); Anthropic (AI processing); Microsoft 365 (our business and marketing email). We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business (subject to this policy). 6. Email marketing and unsubscribing If you opted in to CareerBoss emails, we may send occasional CareerBoss emails about MostFinder and Career Lens. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe: reply with the word unsubscribe, or email jeff@careerboss.ai. We honor requests promptly, generally within two business days. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential account or purchase emails (such as sign-up confirmation, password resets, or receipts). 7. Retention We keep your account, saved results and purchase records while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your data, we will delete it within 30 days of verifying your request, except for records we must keep for tax, accounting or legal reasons. Anonymous MostFinder runs and analytics records that aren't linked to an account are not deleted on a fixed schedule. 8. Your choices and rights You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to stop marketing emails, by writing to jeff@careerboss.ai. If you ask for a copy of your saved results, we will email it to you within 30 days. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days. Depending on where you live (for example, Utah or California), you may have additional rights under state law; we will honor applicable requests and will not discriminate against you for exercising them. 9. Security We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls offered by our providers. No system is perfectly secure. 10. Children The Service is not directed to children under 16, and accounts and purchases are for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. 11. Location We are based in Utah, USA. Our service providers may store and process your information in the United States and in other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. 12. Changes We will post updates here with a new "Last updated" date and notify account holders of material changes. 13.
